The year 1961, the place Pine City, California and some broad is threatening to throw herself off the top of the fanciest hotel in town. There’s trouble brewing and Lieutenant Al Wheeler wants answers.
First stop, Club Extravaganza where we meet delectable Deadpan Dolores. Her name says it all… she’s not shy, so what’s she hiding?
As Wheeler is thrust into a sleazy underworld of strip-joints and lost lonely hearts, the truth isn’t the only thing he uncovers.
Based on Carter Brown‘s beloved pulp fiction story, with music and lyrics by Richard Hartley and Richard O’Brien, the writers of cult favourite The Rocky Horror Show. Brought to you by the creative team behind Shock Treatment and The Toxic Avenger. Club Extravaganza takes residence in the Studio for six weeks.
Cast includes Gloria Onitiri (The Bodyguard, The Lion King) Sebastien Torkia (Top Hat, La Cage Aux Folles, Saturday Night Fever) Hannah Grover (The Toxic Avenger, Ghost the Musical, Mamma Mia), Marc Pickering (The Toxic Avenger, Aladdin, The Elephant Man) and Michael Steedon (Hairspray, A Chorus Line).
Special notes
Contains scenes of sexual nature. Contains strong language.

Outstanding and in the perfect venue for it.
Very enjoyable evening. All cast & musicians were excellent & coped well with the tiny tiny space they had available to them. St James studio is the smallest theatre we have been to so felt very cramped sitting on a standard dining chair with no space at all between the chairs. This is not good when so many people are wider than a chair so I had a strangers leg touching me! Bar is overpriced eg £23 for a bottle of wine that was not pleasant, probably worse than any restaurant house wine at around £16.
Brilliant show, great fun that left you with the feel good factor.
Was a fun show and it was great to see the performers enjoying themselves as well. My only complaint is the space was not very comfortable, very tight space which made it difficult to stay focused on the show at times.
Fun production in a great venue. Good cast and most enjoyable. What you would expect from Richard Hartley and Richard O'Brien !
Loved the show ........ fantastic.
I was surprised at quite how good The Stripper was. I didn't know what to expect, but for such a small theatre and production the talent was incredible.

The Stripper At St James Theatre: "a fabulous... musical noir with lots of camp and sleaze thrown in"
As a big fan of Richard O’Brien and Richard Hartley’s Rocky Horror (Picture) Show I couldn’t resist the opportunity to see The Stripper, a revival by the production team of Southwark Playhouse’s Toxic Avenger and King’s Head’s Shock Treatment (an adaptation of the film) of the The Stripper at St James Theatre.
