Harold and Maude is an idiosyncratic fable told though the eyes of the most unlikely pairing: a compulsive, self-destructive young man who attends funerals for entertainment and a devil-may-care, septuagenarian bohemian.

We thought this play was utterly charming. The use of the cast/musicians on stage was really neatly done. Tender and witty, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Excellent play, great acting, lots of giggles.
Very much enjoyed the show, great performances from all
We absolutely loved it! I never thought it would be anywhere as good as the film but I was amazed and so very pleased to realise how much we enjoyed it. A big thank you to the whole cast and especially to Sheila Hancock for her perfect performance. ????????????
Very inventive staging and overall a fun show from a multi-talented cast. Sheila Hancock was perfect as the rather naughty Maude.
Fantastic - nothing like I have seen before on stage and did not expect the performances I experienced. Warm, funny, slightly black comedy with the cast playing literally to their best. Sheila Hancock was as brilliant as ever. Bill Milner was made to play his part and the other members of the cast just shone and complemented each other to make this a wonderful experience. My only regret is that I did not stand at the end to give them all the standing ovation they deserved. Lovely Theatre too - will visit again often...
It was an amzjing experience, wonderfully inventive production. Sheila Hancock was perfection, and the young man that played Harold was equally superb. The whole cast were so clever, with their characterisations and musical talents. If you have time, this is a production not to be Missed!
Excellent performances from the three main characters but spoilt by an over gimmicky production which added nothing to the mood of the play and in fact detracted from the central theme of the growing love of Harold and Maud.

There's nothing maudlin about Harold!
In a recent poll by cinema-goers, Harold and Maude was rated one of the best films of all time. It has a reputation as a cult classic, full of dark humour and satire. I took a wander down to the Charing Cross Theatre to see how it would translate from screen to stage. Maude meets Harold (Patrick Walshe McBride) at a funeral – (neither of them having known the deceased) – and it sparks something within them both.
