In Paris in the 19th century, blind people were victims of profound discrimination. Louis Braille, a bright young mind with a mad dream, arrives at the Royal Institute of Blind Youth, searching for the same chance as everyone else: to be free and independent. But he soon discovers that people and things aren’t always what they first seem. By sheer determination and courage, he stumbles upon something revolutionary: a simple idea, a genius invention, a legacy.
Two hundred years ago, Louis Braille changed the world by inventing the tactile system of communication the Braille alphabet, liberating the “People of the Night” and introducing literacy, knowledge and culture to a people who were otherwise trapped. It was their journey into the light.

Very inspiring and uplifting show. The performances were very good and the young actor playing Louis Braille has a wonderful voice. Some of the ensemble songs were reminiscent of "Les Miserables". I would definitely recommend this show.
Pros: Good story, great cast, gorgeous music. Some reviews commented on the inappropriate use of blindfolds but I thought this was a stroke of genius because it demonstrated when the blind children were developing independence compared to ('scuse pun) being kept in the dark. Suggestions: Make it sung-through and turn the existing spoken parts into song; Use a larger stage and larger cast eg larger class of children. Overall, a very good musical which gets better on 2nd and 3rd viewings as the songs become more familiar. I left the theatre humming but a little tearful because of the emotional connection I felt to the main character. Give me an original, adult story and score over film adaptation, juke box and Disney anytime!.
Fantastic production! Really good atmosphere.
Lovely theatre, fantastic show, cast were amazing.
Excellent evening with an excellent cast and very easy to collect tickets at the box office
I loved it, found it very moving
Worth any show I have seen in the West End! Very moving.
Fantastic musical. Very talented cast, especially the lead. Their voices were all outstanding and I loved the music. Emotional storyline acted and sung to perfection. The children were brilliant, their professionalism and ability was outstanding. I am so pleased I went to see this, my teenage daughter also loved it. Well done to all involved.
The actors all gave their everything. Fantastic show. Good story. Highly recommend.
The Braille Legacy has a passionate team and inspiring subject matter. To be sure, the plot structure could still use some work and the way it includes blind audience members isn't developed. But the cast and crew alike gave it their all and it was a heartwarming experience.
Magnificent! We were really deeply touched. My wife is blind, and that made it of course extra special: very deep themes of your own life are touched (sorry, we are Dutch, don't know how to say this kind of things properly in English).
Wonderful deserves highest praise. A great inspiring story and music. Talented cast and especially the children. Heartwarming. I wish it the best success. An uplifting experience.

Louis Braille is a name familiar to us all for inventing the system of raised dots that bears his name, allowing the blind to read. He is the subject of a new musical, The Braille Legacy, currently playing at the Charing Cross Theatre, below the station of the same name.
